Not too thick that it makes your shoes too tight but it has enough cushioning that you can feel a difference. I like that they have adhesive so they don't move around. The fit is good even for my narrower high heels and open toe shoes. It can make some unforgiving shoes a lot more tolerable (and yes the cutest shoes are often the most uncomfortable unfortunately but these make them better!)"
